League Secretary Award

The League Secretary Award was initiated by the Board of Directors on February 15, 1971, to recognize those league secretaries who have diligently carried out their duties for an extended period of time. Nominations for the award must be made in writing by a member of the league in which she has held the office. The LWBA Sergeant at Arms shall review the nomination, determine the qualifications of the nominee, and present a recommendation to the Board of Directors for motion.

To be eligible for this award, a league secretary must meet the following qualifications:

1. She must be a member of the Lincoln Women’s Bowling Association.
2. She must have served as secretary of the same winter league for a minimum of seven years.
3. She must have attended at least 75 percent of the meetings and workshops held by the association during the seven or more years covered by the nomination.
4. She must have received a satisfactory or above rating on the Secretary’s Performance evaluation forms maintained by the association secretary during the last five years of the seven years covered by the award.

Secretaries qualifying for the award will be presented with a plaque to be presented at a regular association meeting or league meeting. The plaque shall be engraved with the secretary’s name, the name of her league, and the years (dates) served.

Meach Mulder Plaque

Bowl-Mor Lanes donated the original plaque to the LWBA in memory of long-time Lincoln Bowler, Meach Mulder. Names on the plaque date back to January 1956, although the plaque was actually established in February 1957. It was displayed at Bowl-Mor Lanes until the center closed in 1979. It is now displayed at Parkway Lanes.

Deceased LWBA members names are inscribed on the memorial plaque if they had been LWBA members for 15 years or more. (Does not have to be consecutive years.)
