This award was started in 1968 in memory of Ren Settell.  It is presented annually to the bowler who, during his or her career, has best exemplified the high ideals of sportsmanship and fellowship of Ren Settell.  A woman is selected in the odd number years.  The plaque is on display at Hollywood Bowl.
